It... no one has ever made me a cake just for me before since I was a little girl. [She finally found the ability to walk again.]

Arden... this is... thank you. Will you eat it with me?

But it's your birthday present.

[He feels like he has to press that point a little... He wants her to enjoy it after all.]

If I eat it with you, that's less for you to eat.

[And he knows all about no one making things for you, so this feels important.]

Oh but Arden, didn't you know, a meal always tastes better when you don't eat it alone.

[Oh. Well then.]

You just can't stop giving me gifts even on your own birthday.

[He shakes his head a bit.]

Alright. Let's get a knife then. Iguess I can eat it with you.

[He's actually really proud of it and how happy it made her.]

Well, I've never celebrated my birthday in many years, but shouldn't I be allowed to celebrate it how I choose? I want you here with me, and eating with me.

[He smiles broadly at her actually wanting him around. Baking memories indeed.]

You got me there. At least I can use the same excuse some day.

You can use the same excuse if you ever chose to give yourself a proper birthday. [She teased as she gently took him by the elbow to the lesson room.]

That's still really weird for me to even think about, but I promise to use that excuse for sure.

[He grins and lets himself be led over.]

So long as the celebration doesn't mean you refuse to celebrate. Too many people love you now, Arden.

[Hold the phone.]

How can you say something like that? 'Many people'?

[He doesn't believe her for a second. Maybe like... three at the most, all friendly kinds of love, with her included.]

Have you counted?

Maybe 3, that's not 'many' at all.

Right, you - and Sora and maybe Roxas. Or Usagi, actually. Usagi would at least say it out loud.

That's four, that's already more than you first thought, and I know there are far more than you even realize and listed.

I don't know for sure about Roxas though! How can you know that there's more than that?

Because you're you, and you're a wonderful person to know, Arden. That's how I know.

I'm not a wonderful person. I've done terrible things. At best I'm an idiot who's trying to learn better.

Why Arden, I thought you knew, learning to do better is one of the hardest things to do, that makes you more than a wonderful person.

[He goes quiet for awhile thinking about that.]

I'm not sure that applies to someone like me, Snow. I think that'd make sense if the worst thing anyone ever did was like... lie, cheat, steal, that kind of stuff. But, worse than that... at best you can just kind of be okay afterwards, I think.

[She gently tilted his head up and pressed a kiss to his brow.]

You may not be sure of it, but I most certainly am. I've seen your heart when you didn't know you were showing it.

[He blushes again because this was supposed to be her birthday present and she's managed to turn it around on him again.]

Thank you. Now let's eat some of your birthday cake, huh?
