❥ Folkmore Roles & Attributes
Skills:
- Amazing baker and cook
- Amazing seamstress
- Skilled at cleaning
- Knowledge of how to preserve, dry, cure, and meats and fruits
Canon Abilities: Snow White has magical powers regarding animals. When she sings, she is immediately able to summon any animals in the surrounding area. Additionally, she is able to communicate with any and all animals and can actually understand them and they her. She can befriend almost any animal creature, magical or mundane.
Role: Legend
Role Qualities/Attributes: Snow will gain wings made up of multiple colors of bird feathers: bluebirds, robins, cardinals, doves, hawks, ravens, you name a bird, her wings have the male and female feathers in it.
Her halo is gold and white light in the shape of woven deer antlers, twigs, and leaves, and flowers hovered above her head.
She will have a keen sense of when someone needs help.
Role Reasoning: Snow is as sweet and kind as they come. She basically embodies sunshine and wholesomeness. Snow White wants to do whatever she can to see the best outcome for everyone and sees the good in everyone, even those trying to kill her. Snow White naturally embodies the role of a legend in being selfless, generous, and considerate of others. Snow White as a legend will continue on helping others and doing what she can to put good in the world. I am also hoping to have her horizons broadened and expanded upon just the scope of what doing "good" means as she is incredibly sheltered. I think as a legend Snow can reach a lot of people in a way some can't because she's not magically powerful or in a position of power or came from an idyllic background. She comes from abuse and still CHOOSES to see the good in people and I think that, as a legend, she can share that outlook.
❥ Personality
Option 1. CW: Child abuse, attempted child murder, child neglect and mistreatment
Skin white as the snow, lips red as blood, hair black as night, but this is not all there is to the Princess, Snow White.
Upon first meeting Snow White, it is not hard to see that she is very kind and innocent. Her childhood didn’t make her harsh or cruel, in fact it made Snow White even kinder and even hopeful. While she has had a dark past, she doesn’t allow it to upset her or make her bitter towards people and experiences. Snow almost always maintains a positive attitude. She doesn’t seem to have a malicious bone in her body and instead is always open to helping others. Sweet and kind, the princess is always willing to lend a helping hand or ear. As she is quite gentle, she likes to think about how to make someone’s day or what may make someone smile. This doesn’t just apply to people but animals as well.
This brings us to her innocence. Snow White is innocent and naive to the point of making some foolish decisions. After escaping into exile, Snow White didn’t want revenge on the Queen, she only wished to escape and get as far away as possible. Even after having come right out of a terrifying situation of running for her life in the woods, Snow White was willing to go right into the dwarfs’ cottage for a place to stay, not even considering the potential dangers there. The animals said this place was safe, and she trusted them to be right. Rather, Snow White’s first concern was that she may have entered a house of orphaned children and that if she acted as their mother and cleaned up their home, she might be allowed to stay with them and take care of them.
Snow White has internalized that her fear or worry can be considered troublesome. Snow White’s abuse has made her regard her own fear (even if justified) as something she should apologize for, which we can see when she apologizes for frightening the animals in the forest after having just escaped from being killed. She doesn’t focus on herself, only that she might have frightened someone. The princess doesn’t want to trouble people, yet she also has no problems asking for help as she does so on several occasions first from her animal friends and then the dwarfs.
Snow White while not very smart, isn’t stupid. She tries to reason things out as best she can but, her reasoning is naïve and based on a sheltered lifestyle. She is oddly pragmatic and practical in other matters. She knows that she can’t just expect to stay in the dwarfs’ cottage for nothing, so she offers to take care of the house in return for shelter and safety. In this way, she also believes in the kindness of others to be as great as her own. Knowing very little about the dwarfs, she asks if she can stay with them (again, not thinking of the dangers). However, she isn't a pushover.
Despite having a very lonely and sad youth with her father’s death, never having known her birth mother, and then suffering from abuse and neglect, Snow White hasn’t lost any of her hope for her future. She dreams and wishes to be in love and be taken away by her true love where she will be safe and able to live happily ever after. Her desire to be loved is perhaps her greatest desire as she was starved for it in her childhood. She wants people to like her, going so far to pray for it at night as when she prays for Grumpy to like her. At her core, Snow White can get very lonely, seeking comfort and love.
Snow White is quick to become friends with the dwarfs, and more than that, be almost a mother figure to them. Snow White is very quick to take charge and will enforce her rules. Snow White can be very stubborn about matters and things she believes in such as cleanliness or good manners. Snow White will not stand for people being rude, insisting on good manners. Snow White, in many ways, models the mother figure she desperately desired for herself but never had. But as much as Snow White can be a mother, she can be a friend, able to go so far as to lightly tease the dwarfs like when she does with Grumpy and Dopey. She does have a sense of humor and is still very much a child despite her situation. Snow White is still a young girl, growing and maturing, but she has hopes and dreams and desires like anyone else. She tries not to be a bother, offering her skills and hoping to make fast friends with anyone and everyone.

Role Reasoning: Snow is as sweet and kind as they come. She isn't afraid to get her hands dirty with some hard work or do something herself. She is incredibly sweet, always wanting to help everyone, sometimes even to the detriment of her own health or safety. Her kindness and gentleness are what endear her to so many human, mythical beings, and animals alike. She basically embodies sunshine and wholesomeness. Snow White naturally embodies the role of a legend in being selfless, generous, and considerate of others. She tries to brighten up others day or bring light to the world.
❥ Personality
Option 2:
What was the most traumatic experience your character endured? How did this change them?
Oh, I suppose I could choose a couple of moments that would be considered traumatic. My father died when I was very young and my stepmother immediately made me dress in rags and start cleaning the castle, forbidding anyone from helping me or even acknowledging me! I think I wasn't much older than seven at the time? Oh! And there was the time my stepmother told the royal Huntsman to cut out my heart! I suppose that was quite traumatic. I had to flee into the woods and into exile, never allowed to go back to the kingdom again, but thankfully, I found the dwarfs' cottage and they took me in! They are so sweet. Oh, and just before I came here, I bit into a poisoned apple and died! I don't think I endured that one, I admit, but I'm so glad to have a second chance here. That really was so kind of the cute little fox to do that!
What is the most important and defining relationship(s) in your character's life and why?
Why, my most important relationships are with the seven dwarfs: Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Dopey, Bashful, Sneezy, and Sleepy! They're such wonderful dears. Not only were they so sweet and kind as to take me in as if I were their daughter, but they were the very first to ever show me so much love and kindness. Every moment with them is them showing me kindness and love. Every single one of them has been considerate of my needs and wants, which I'll be honest, is not something I'm really used to. I know, if I had been able to, I could have stayed with them as long as they would have let me. There is... one more relationship, of course, my prince, and maybe someday he'll find me, and we'll live happily ever after. He's charming and tall, there isn't anyone like him, nobody at all. I'm sure, even though I'm dead, we'll meet again.
What is your character's moral code? Do they have one? Why or why not?
Do I have a moral code? Of course, I have one. It's very important to be kind and considerate to others, no matter who they are, great or small, animal, human, or mythical being. A tiny mouse may have just as many problem as a king, you know. I know some people might think that is silly, especially as it was being kind to my stepmother which got me killed, but I won't stop being kind just because of an act of unkindness towards me. You never know what someone else might be going through. I always try to help those in need and do what I can to make the situation better. Helping might mean being a listening ear, making food for the ill or the hungry, inviting someone out from the rain, or cleaning the house top to bottom and bottom to top! I always remember that there is no use in grumbling when raindrops come tumbling and that I'm the one who can fill the world with sunshine. Nothing gets done by my crying about it, after all. Oh, but that isn't to say others can't cry, of course! I just know that it never helped me personally.
Let me see, oh, and of course, it's always important to wash before you eat! That may be a bit silly to some but I simply won't have a bite to eat before I've washed.
Is your character capable of forgiveness or will they hold a grudge until they die? Would anything ever make them change their mind?
Oh, well, there isn't that many people I would need to forgive! But of course I'm able to forgive. I suppose you must mean my stepmother... well... yes, I am very much able to forgive her. She's my stepmother, after all. I don't know what I did to ever upset her, but if my stepmother came to me and truly asked for my forgiveness... I would give it freely and willingly. I... more than anything, I would like to have a good relationship with her, I would love... to be loved by her. Does that sound a little silly? I suppose you think it might, but I don't think so. I've been told that not forgiving someone is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die, well to start, I have been poisoned, from my stepmother no less! But the point is, well, living my life in anger and hatred doesn't do me any good. And what would holding a grudge do? Who does that help? Holding someone accountable and holding a grudge I think are very different things. I don't think I'll ever change my mind about this, to be honest.
If your character could change one thing about their past, what would it be and why? Or why not?
Oh... I don't know if it's something I COULD change, but... I think... I would like some way to have my mother and father live. I just... I mean, perhaps it sounds silly, wanting to be raised by your parents. I am very grateful to my dear dwarfs for taking me in, and if my parents had raised me, I may not have met them at all! Which, oh, I wouldn't like that. Still, sometimes, I think about what it would be like if they were alive. Or, if there is no way I could have changed in my past, perhaps my stepmother liking me, then. I really wish I knew what it was I did to make her hate me so, if I knew that, I could change it! Those would be the things I would change, if I could. But, it happened and it can't be changed, so there's nothing for it, I suppose. No reason to wish for things that can't change.
